On July 25, 2023, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Tu Chau, visited and conducted work discussions at the Hung Hau Holdings.
Attending the meeting on behalf of the Chinese Consulate General were Mr. Tu Chau - Deputy Consul General, Mr. Lu Binh - Consul, and Ms. Kim Thu - media support associate. Alongside them, the Hung Hau Holdings was represented by Mr. Vu Quang Chinh - Board member, and other supporting members. The delegation from Van Hien University (VHU) included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc - President, Mr. Lai Khai Vinh - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Thao - Deputy Director of the Graduate and International Training Institute, and Ms. Doan Khanh Phuong - International Cooperation staff.
During the meeting, the Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China expressed gratitude for the warm welcome received at Hung Hau. This was Mr. Tu Chau's third visit to VHU and his official meeting with the President. On previous occasions, he was invited to attend events and awarded scholarships to students majoring in the Chinese language at Van Hien University.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc shared the joy of celebrating the 26th anniversary of the university's establishment and the achievements in developing major cultural fields, particularly Japanese, Korean, and English languages. The university has sent over 20 students to participate in online courses in China and has implemented the 2+2 bachelor's program with Guangxi University. VHU also desires to enhance cooperation with Chinese universities, expand study and cultural exchange opportunities for students, and hopes that the Chinese Consulate General will introduce more educational cooperation opportunities with Chinese universities. Additionally, VHU looks forward to sending their lecturers to study and exchange experiences, while providing scholarship information for students to experience Chinese culture and education.
Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Thao - Deputy Director of the Graduate and International Training Institute - introduced 20 full scholarships for international students at Van Hien University, along with the 2+2 joint bachelor's programs, which will open up opportunities for studying and researching in various fields.
The Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China highly praised Van Hien University through the practical connections made by Mr. Lai Khai Vinh. He also expressed his commitment to continue supporting and contributing to the installation of multi-functional classrooms at Van Hien University. Furthermore, he agreed with the philosophy of prioritizing food for humanity and pledged to establish connections between Chinese enterprises and Van Hien University to promote cooperation in import-export and agriculture.
Besides, the meeting also discussed the possibility of economic and trade cooperation between the Hung Hau Holdings and Chinese businesses. The Deputy Consul General promised to introduce the Hung Hau Holdings to Chinese enterprises with relevant needs and facilitate connections between the two parties in the fields of import-export and industry.
Regarding the reception of smart classrooms, the President expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Tu Chau, his associates, and Mr. Lai Khai Vinh for their dedication in the process of implementing and putting the multi-functional classrooms into practical use for students.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Consul General presented a traditional Chinese painting titled "One Hundred Children" to the VHU President. The painting symbolizes love and care for children, carrying significant traditional values in Chinese culture, demonstrating the spirit of friendship and fostering connections between the two countries in the noble task of nurturing future generations.
