Closing Ceremony of the official survey for the external assessment of 02 VHU undergraduate training programs

On the morning of November 28, 2024, at Tran Hung Dao Hall, HungHau Campus, Van Hien University, in collaboration with the Center for Education Quality Assessment - Vinh University held the Closing Ceremony of the official survey for the external assessment of the undergraduate training program in “Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering” and “Logistics and Supply Chain Management.”

Attending the Closing Ceremony of the official survey for the external assessment of Van Hien University's training program, the external assessment team included Dr. Nguyen Dinh Huy - Deputy Director of the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation - Vinh University, Secretary of the External Evaluation Team; Prof. Dr. Science. Prof. Dr. Dang Ung Van - Head of the Team; Dr. Phan Hung Thu - Permanent Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Van Hieu - Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thai An - Member; Dr. Ngo Hai Chi - Member; MSc. Le Thi Phung - Member; MSc. Gian Hoang Anh - Supervisor.

On the side of Van Hien University, there was the participation of Ms. Pham Thi Minh Nguyet - Vice Chairwoman of the School Council, Vice Chairwoman of the School's Executive Committee; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Member of the University Council - Principal; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Thao - Permanent Executive Director; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - Vice Principal; Le Si Hai - Vice Principal with teachers, Executive Board members, Heads/Deputies of faculties, managers of units, members of the Self-Evaluation Council, and the Secretariat of the Self-Evaluation Council of the Electrical Engineering major Electronics - Telecommunications and Logistics and Supply Chain Management of the University.

At the closing session, Prof. Dr. Dang Ung Van, Head of the Assessment Team, presented a preliminary report on the results of the official survey. In his report, Prof. Dr. Dang Ung Van highlighted several strengths, including facilities and equipment, training objectives and learning outcomes, student admissions and support, faculty quality, teaching methods, and the university's commitment to continuous improvement. The team also appreciated the university's cooperation and support in providing required reports, documentation, and data during the accreditation process.

In the preliminary report on the official survey results for the undergraduate training programs in "Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering" and "Logistics and Supply Chain Management" at Van Hien University, Prof. Dr. Dang Ung Van provided recommendations for further program development. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and enhancing the programs based on the university's educational philosophy, “Character First, Success Later.” He also encouraged faculty and students to actively engage in scientific research and pursue projects at various levels.

Adhering to the Training Program Evaluation Standards under Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT dated March 14, 2016, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), along with state regulations, accreditation experience, and assigned authority, the external assessment team provided objective feedback in their detailed report. They highlighted specific strengths in various fields for the university to build upon in the future. Simultaneously, the team offered recommendations to improve the quality of training and related activities, aiming to optimize the development of the university's key training programs in the coming period.

Prof. Dr. Dang Ung Van, Head of the External Assessment Team, remarked:
"Accepting diversity (humanism) to develop training programs—from content to teaching methods, learning approaches to assessments—meets the rapid changes in the labor market (adaptability), all based on the foundation of 'Humanity before Reputation.' This philosophy takes the fundamental values of humanity as the cornerstone for sustainable development (immutability), reflecting the university’s educational principles."

On behalf of the University Executive Board and the Self-Assessment Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Rector of Van Hien University, thoroughly and seriously acknowledged the evaluations and recommendations from the external assessment team. He affirmed the university's commitment to optimizing its training programs, teaching and learning facilities, administrative management, student training efforts, and infrastructure to enhance the overall quality of education.

During the four-day official survey, the external assessment team conducted various activities, including reviewing and verifying the accuracy of documentation and evidence, interviewing diverse groups both within and outside the university—such as university leadership, administrative managers, academic managers, faculty members, support staff, current students, alumni, and employers—surveying alumni about their employment status and the teaching activities of faculty, observing on-site operations, inspecting facilities, and attending lectures.

During the Closing Session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Prof. Dr. Dang Ung Van, and Dr. Nguyen Dinh Huy (Deputy Director of the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation - Vinh University) signed the completion record for the official survey of the training programs in "Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering" and "Logistics and Supply Chain Management" at Van Hien University.
