(VHU) On the occasion of its 30th founding anniversary, Van Hien University is launching the VHU30 – “The Enlightenment Imprint” Logo Design and Songwriting Contest. The contest opens a creative space for the Van Hien community across all eras and for high school students nationwide.

Thirty years is a special milestone in the journey of a university. It is a road measured not only in time but also written by generations of instructors, students, alumni, and all those who have stood alongside Van Hien University with knowledge, enthusiasm, and a desire to contribute.
Everyone carries a story about Van Hien. Some grew up through their first lectures, some found their career dream under this roof, and some have followed every step of the University’s development with pride. And today, as Van Hien prepares to turn 30, the University hopes that this meaningful milestone will be remembered not only in numbers but also preserved through symbols and melodies bearing the imprint of the Van Hien community itself.
With that in mind, Van Hien University is officially launching the VHU30 – "The Enlightenment Imprint" Logo Design and Songwriting Contest, open to the Van Hien community across all eras and to high school students nationwide.
This is not only a creative contest but also a chance for every author to help shape the symbol and the sound of the University’s 30-year milestone. The selected works will feature throughout the VHU30 anniversary activities, become part of that historical imprint, and continue to resonate with many generations.
Alongside honoring 30 years of building and growth, the entries express Van Hien University’s aspiration for international integration, its spirit of innovation, and its development vision for the new period.
Outstanding entries will go through a selection process combining expert assessment and community voting. In each contest category, the Organizing Committee will select the Top 20 finest works and then narrow them down to the Top 10 that will receive feedback, refine their entries, and present them in person to a Professional Council made up of representatives of the University’s leadership together with experts in design and music.
Two contest categories, two creative languages
Category A – VHU30 anniversary logo design
Category A seeks a symbol that expresses the spirit of "The Enlightenment Imprint" and international integration, carries a distinctive identity, and is creative and modern. It should have a visual language of its own that is easy to recognize and fits the 30-year milestone of Van Hien University’s formation and growth.
Entries must have aesthetic value and be flexibly applicable across many platforms, sizes, and materials, and must suit communication activities, events, exhibition spaces, and souvenir products. Designs may be developed in 2D or 3D form.
A Category A entry package includes:
- A vector design file in AI format and a preview file in PNG or JPG format; for hand-drawn entries, the author submits a scan in PDF format.
- A concept statement in Word or PDF format setting out the meaning of the imagery and colors and the intended application of the design.
Category B – Theme songwriting
Category B seeks a song with identity, emotional depth, and reach, one that connects the generations of Van Hien and helps create a signature sound for the VHU30 program of activities.
The song should have clear, wholesome lyrics and a memorable melody, suit an educational environment, and lend itself to staging and performance. Entries run from 3 to 5 minutes; the Organizing Committee places no limit on musical genre, so as to widen the creative space for authors.
A Category B entry package includes:
- A demo recording in MP3 or WAV format.
- The song lyrics in Word or PDF format.
- Authors may also attach a video in MP4 or MOV format if the performance product is already complete.
Eligibility and forms of participation
The contest is open to:
- High school students nationwide.
- Students, trainees, and former learners of Van Hien University.
- Administrators, instructors, and staff of Van Hien University and HungHau Holdings across all eras.
Entrants may take part individually or in groups of up to 3 members. The Organizing Committee places no limit on the number of entries per individual or group of authors.
The selection and refinement process
Entries will be featured on the contest platform and put to an online vote. In each category, the Organizing Committee selects the Top 20 and then narrows it to the Top 10, which move into the feedback and refinement stage.
The selected authors will present their finished versions to a Professional Council made up of representatives of the University’s leadership, of the relevant units, and of experts in the fields of design and music. This process is designed to assess, at the same time, the creative idea, artistic quality, reach, and practical value of each work.
