Fostering Digital Safety Skills: An Essential Pack For Students In The Technology Era

(VHU) In the context of rising online fraud and high-tech crime with increasingly sophisticated tactics, equipping students with digital safety knowledge and skills has become an urgent requirement. To raise awareness and enhance skills in identifying and avoiding cyber risks, Van Hien University organized the seminar "Skills to Prevent High-Tech Crime and Online Fraud" for learners.

Recently, at the Tran Hung Dao Hall, Van Hien University held the seminar "Skills to Prevent High-Tech Crime and Online Fraud," attracting a large number of students. The program was implemented to help learners actively protect themselves against potential risks in the digital environment, while raising awareness of using technology safely and responsibly.

The seminar was honored to welcome the keynote speaker, Captain Le Ngoc Khanh – an officer from the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department under the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security. With practical experience in combating and preventing high-tech crime, the speaker provided highly useful information on common types of online scams today, such as impersonating authorities, hijacking social media accounts, financial investment scams, fake job recruitment, and personal data theft.

Through real-world scenarios and typical cases, VHUers had the opportunity to better identify the increasingly sophisticated methods of high-tech criminals. They were also guided on skills for securing personal information, verifying details before making online transactions, and using social media safely. This practical content helps learners improve their self-protection capabilities and minimize the risk of becoming victims of cyber fraud.
