Summary of International Cooperation activities in 2021-2022 and the first quarter of 2023

1.     Welcome visitors from overseas

VHU mainly welcomed foreign delegations from foreign colleges and universities to visit the campus, comprehend about potential cooperative projects, and exchange ideas. Besides, VHU also welcomed researchers, partners and foreign students to pay working visit or participate in educational programs at VHU.

2.     Signed MOUs

VHU has signed with a total of 33 domestic and foreign organizations in 2021-2022 and first quarter of 2023. In which, the Foreign organizations are from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Canada, Switzerland, USA, Australia and Thailand. Details as follows:

·      Japan: ValleyCampus SaiGon Ltd, AKANE Ltd, Sorimachi Vietnam Ltd, Japan Foundation, ENJIN Ltd, IFK translation Ltd.

·      China: Guangxi University for Nationalities - China.

·      Taiwan: Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology.

·      Canada: ILAC- International Language Academy of Canada, Cape BretonUniversity.

·      Switzerland: Les Roches University, Glion University, Business School Lausanne.

·      USA: Stanton University (SU), Missouri State University (MSU).

·      Australia: Culinary Solutions Australia International (CSAI).

·      Korea: Hana Group International Trading Company Limited, Myongji University, Gwangju University, Kwangwoon University, KyungnamUniversity, Honam University, Sejong University, Gachon University, Yeungnam University, Visang Education Ltd, Korea Foundation.

·      Thailand: Stamford International University, Assumption University of Thailand.

·      Vietnam: Vietnam E-Commerce Association, Department of foreign affairs in HCM, Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB), Can Tho university (CTU).

The content of MoUs that have been signed mainly refers to academic information sharing about teaching, scientific research, cooperative/ internship programs, and student exchanges.

3.     Establish and maintain relationships with overseas partners.

Besides working with the organizations within the scope of the MoUs, the university has also built and maintained cooperative relationships with foreign partners over the past year, such as the Consulate General of Japan in HCM, Language Center of NCUE in ChangHua, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCM, the Consulate general of the Republic of Korea, Canada General Consulate in HCM, Sunchon National University (SCNU), Global Hope organization, Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam, Ewha Womans University, Hongshin Seoul University, External Relation Office and Vietnam - ASEAN Friendship Association in HCMC (VAFA).

On November 25, 2022, the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Association in HCMC (VAFA) together with Van Hien University held a ceremony to launch the Friendship Branch of Van Hien University. This cooperation initially has brought VHU to connect with the Indonesian Association of Private Universities Education in Yogtakarta (APTISI) along with their 60 colleges and University in Indonesia by the recommendation of Mr. Agustaviano Sofjan - Consul General of Indonesia in HCM City. The MoU signing ceremony between Van Hien University and APTISI Yogyakarta (along with 60 member schools of the association) took place on March 7th, 2023, at HungHau Campus, in the presence of the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Association in HCMC and the Indonesia Consulate. To implement the practical partnership, APTISI also sponsored Indonesia Corner in the VHU HungHau campus library on the same day.

Furthermore, the remaining organizations also provided VHU with free short-term courses, international seminars and training for lecturers, student scholarships, cultural exchange programs, recruited interns to Japan, sponsored Korean and Japanese study rooms, and so on.

4.     Develop and implement signed MoUs with international organizations

Japan: mainly about recruiting human resources and sponsors. Three VHU students have successfully moved to Japan for internship.

China: implementing MOA; interacting via mail; mapping program; the Graduate and International training institute is checking certificates and related papers with seals; are in the stage of writing outlines and project to open the affiliate program; preparing to appraise the outline with Guangxi University for Nationalities.

Switzerland: organized several seminars and international conferences.

Korea: 27 exchanged students in total; sponsored facilities, scholarships along with books and textbooks; invited VHU lecturers to participate in seminars, refresher courses abroad, organized cultural exchange programs.

5.     Organization and management of conferences and seminars with foreign elements

On June 29th, 2022, VHU and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Society have co-organized the international conference with the theme "Supply and demand for high - skilled labor in East Asian countries: challenges and solutions for Ho Chi Minh city". The conference marked an important milestone in strengthening and enforcing human resources development.
