On August 23, 2023, Gwangju University, South Korea, visited Van Hien University as part of an ongoing partnership that was established in 2012. The delegation from both universities consisted of the Dean, Vice Dean, Department Head, and international relations staff from Gwangju University, as well as the Department Head, research and international cooperation staff, and faculty members from the Oriental Studies Faculty at Van Hien University.
Founded in 1980 and located in the city of Gwangju, Gwangju University was the first university to implement the 'Internship Support Program in Enterprises' and the 'Support Program for Entrepreneurship.' Currently, the university has academic exchange agreements with over 60 universities worldwide.
Since 2013, a total of 25 Van Hien University students have participated in a one-year student exchange and the 2+2 program at Gwangju University.
During the meeting, representatives from both universities expressed gratitude, shared their joy, and highly praised the cooperative relationship between the institutions. They also proposed expanding collaboration through various activities, including organizing cultural exchange programs for students, sports exchanges such as soccer and taekwondo, conducting workshops to share teaching experiences, seeking support for activities and projects for faculty and students through a memorandum of understanding between the two universities. Proposed activities include opening a Vietnamese Studies program, welcoming international students to short-term and long-term training courses, welcoming international students for internships at companies in the Hùng Hậu Holdings, establishing joint professorships, inviting volunteer professors and guest lecturers, jointly organizing international seminars, inviting professors to contribute papers to conferences and special topics.
Collaboration with Gwangju University will provide Van Hien University students with excellent educational and professional opportunities. It will also enhance the development of research projects and international publications, further elevating Van Hien University's academic reputation globally.
