Faculty of Tourism organized a welcome freshmen event at 613 Au Co Campus on 14th September 2016 to introduce its organization structure, educational programs as well as activities to the students, helping them prepare to get familiar with a new studying environment – Van Hien University. There were over 700 freshmen attended this event.
To start the event, Assoc. Prof. Pham Xuan Hau had a speech to welcome the freshmen and introduce the faculty’s history and tradition, organization structure, and lecturers. Besides, he shared useful information to help the students orient their studying plan at VHU.
The representatives of the Department of Hotel Management and Hospitality and the Department of Tour Operation and Management have introduced their departments and majors, sharing the demands and recruitment orientation of the companies now. They also expected the students to actively attend various activities such as competitions related to their majors, student research to get skills and effective learning methods.
After that, there was a Q&A session so that all the students’ questions could be listened and fully answered. A play call “I choose tourism” was also performed by current VHU tourism students.
At the end of the event, many school clubs came introduced to the freshmen and support them in member registration. Participating in a club can help the freshmen to be more confident in studying and activities.
