Van Hien University Organizes “Red Sunday 2026”: Nearly 5,000 Individuals Spread “Pink Drops” Of Compassion

(VHU) On the morning of March 8, 2026, at the HungHau Campus, Van Hien University, in collaboration with Tien Phong Newspaper and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, organized the 18th "Red Sunday" Program - 2026. The event attracted nearly 5,000 faculty members, staff, students, and artists to participate in voluntary blood donation. Additionally, it raised 100 million VND for the “Tiếp sức đến trường” (Powering Your Way to School) Fund, donated 20 computers, and awarded 100 scholarships to spread the spirit of humanity and social responsibility among the youth.

A Journey of Compassionate “Pink Drops”

Continuing the university's humanitarian tradition, Red Sunday 2026 has become a festival of kindness where the youth of Van Hien demonstrate their responsibility toward the community. From early morning, the atmosphere at Van Hien University was vibrant with the presence of students, alumni, teachers, and soldiers from the 29th Southeast Mobile Police Regiment (E29) – Mobile Police Command, alongside students from numerous universities across Ho Chi Minh City.

With a spirit of sharing, nearly 5,000 volunteers donated blood, contributing to the demand for blood treatment in hospitals. This is a clear testament to the “Service” philosophy that Van Hien University consistently pursues, turning humanitarian values into practical actions.

Empowering Knowledge through Community Resources

Beyond blood donation, “Red Sunday 2026” serves as a link between humanitarian activities and educational support. Through the program, the Organizing Committee officially raised 100 million VND for the “Tiếp sức đến trường” Fund, helping underprivileged students stay on their academic path.
Specifically, the program also presented:
20 sets of computers to Student Associations of various universities to support digital transformation and academic work.
100 meaningful scholarships exclusively for students active in the voluntary blood donation movement.

Recognizing Efforts in Community Service

Within the framework of the program, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union awarded Certificates of Merit to the collective of Van Hien University and HungHau Development Corporation. This is well-deserved recognition for units that have been pioneers and persistent partners of the "Red Sunday" movement for many years.

In addition to collectives, the Central Committee also awarded certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in mobilization and voluntary blood donation. Concurrently, to express gratitude for dedicated companionship, Military Hospital 175 presented certificates of merit to units and individuals active in coordination, ensuring the success and safety of the festival.

Speaking at the program, Assoc.
