Van Hien University Explores Cooperation with Catholic University, South Korea Following MOU Signing

On October 18, 2024, in Meeting Room HEC101 at HungHau Campus – Van Hien University, the leadership of the Faculty of Oriental Studies had the pleasure of welcoming and holding discussions with the Dean of the Institute of Education from Catholic University, South Korea.

The meeting was attended by representatives from both institutions. On behalf of Van Hien University, attendees included Dr. Vo Minh Hung, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Thao, Deputy Manager of the Department of Scientific Management and International Cooperation; Ms. Phan Thi Hanh, Head of Division of the Korean Studies Department, and Ms. Chenh Cao Ngoc Linh, Lecturer in the Faculty of Oriental Studies. Representing Catholic University were Mr. Park Hee Chan, Dean of the Institute of Language Education, and Ms. Thai Thi Phuc from the International Cooperation Department.

The two parties are discussing potential areas for future collaboration.

Dr. Vo Minh Hung extended a warm welcome to the delegation, expressing Van Hien University's honor in hosting the representatives from Catholic University. Dr. Hung also proposed various collaborative opportunities, including scholar and student exchange programs, co-hosted workshops and seminars both online and offline, and expanded partnerships in scientific research. Additionally, he suggested language and cultural exchange activities that would provide enriching experiences for students of both universities.

Representing Catholic University, Mr. Park Hee Chan responded positively to these proposals, emphasizing that once the MOU is signed, the institutions could proceed with cooperation across a variety of areas. Ms. Thai Thi Phuc highlighted the significance of student exchanges as a bridge to sustained collaboration between the two universities.

Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Thao proposed a transfer program for Korean Studies students, allowing them to study for two years at Van Hien University before transferring to Catholic University. This joint initiative aims to provide Vietnamese students with access to an international standard of education while studying locally.

The meeting concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, establishing a solid foundation for a strong, effective, and mutually beneficial partnership between Van Hien University and Catholic University.
