WORKSHOP: YUKATA - THE BEAUTY OF JAPANESE CULTURE

On January 13, 2024, at Tran Hung Dao Auditorium (HungHau Campus), the Faculty of Oriental Studies - Van Hien University organized a workshop on cultural experience titled: "Yukata - the beauty of Japanese culture" to provide students majoring in Japanese Language and Japanese Studies with interesting experiences about Japanese culture, while also creating an atmosphere for exchange, communication, and language practice, with the participation of over 300 students.

At the beginning of the workshop, Mr. Le Si Hai, Head of Faculty of Oriental Studies, delivered an opening speech and encouraged students to study well and participate in departmental and university activities. Students were urged not only to focus on language learning but also to understand and experience the cultural aspects of a country in order to easily integrate into the international working environment, especially in Japanese companies.

During the workshop, the speaker - Mr. Hirano Ayaka, a lecturer in Japanese Studies, presented the history and prominent features of Yukata - a traditional garment commonly worn by Japanese people in the summer, and the differences between Yukata and Kimono - attire worn during festivals and formal events.

The highlight of the program that greatly interested students was the experience of wearing Yukata attire and competing in a confident and creatively styled fashion show.

The fashion show segment, featuring 15 "models" from participating teams, saw the top three teams awarded for their correct wearing techniques, beautiful and impressive attire, and outstanding performances.

Congratulations on the successful workshop. In the future, Faculty of Oriental Studies - Van Hien University promises to bring more cultural and language experience programs from the countries students are studying. Stay tuned to the Fanpage to register for upcoming beneficial programs and events.
